James Garty (1824 - 1905) was a respected businessperson, veteran, and Past Master of Corinthian Lodge, A. F. and A. M., in Concord, Massachusetts. He was born in Westmeath, Ireland in 1824 and came to America at the height of the potato famine of the 1840's. By his death he a resident of Concord over 50 years before his death, marking him as a long-standing member of the community. He quickly became known and respected within the town.
