==Early Life and Education== George P. How was born on January 24, 1829, in Concord, Massachusetts, to Hon. Phineas How, a prominent figure in the community. George received his education in Concord’s schools and local academy. In 1842, he began working in his father’s store, balancing his education with store duties. By 1845, he dedicated himself fully to business, developing a strong understanding of the trade. When his father fell ill in 1852, George took over full management of the store, continuing until his father’s passing in 1853. Following this, he remained a clerk under his father’s successor. In 1859, he expanded his career into mercantile pursuits in Boston.
