==Professional Life and Craftsmanship== Wood arrived in Concord in 1807 to apprentice as a cabinet maker with William Heywood. Over his career, he took on a range of trades, manufacturing table hinges for David Hubbard, bellows-pipes for Lemuel Curtis, and time-piece cases for Nathaniel Monroe. He also worked in pencil manufacturing for over thirty years with William Monroe and later with his son, Brother Francis Monroe. Additionally, Wood partnered for three years with Brother James Adams in the cabinet-making business, demonstrating his dedication to craftsmanship and enterprise.
